Trapped deer rescued by Essex firefighters

FIREFIGHTERS from Saffron Walden were called out to rescue a Monk Jack deer after it had become trapped in a football net.
A crew was called to the Friends School, in Mount Pleasant Road at about 10.20pm on Wednesday (August 19).
Saffron Walden station officer, Paul Curtis, said: "The deer was on the sports field at the school and had become trapped in football goal netting.
"Fire crews used wire cutters and saws to cut through the netting."

The deer was released unharmed back into the countryside by 10.55pm.
