Trial date set for man charged with arson and burglary in Newport

A man is due to stand trial after being charged with arson and burglary at a house in High Street, Newport.

Philip Day, 55, of Saltash Close, Runcorn, was charged in July in connection with the incident on December 31 last year.

He denied the offences at Chester Magistrates’ Court on July 12 and is due to stand trial at Chester Crown Court on January 2, 2019.
