POLICE are asking for help tracing a man who grabbed hold of a 12-year-old girl walking through a Wimbish street last Thursday evening.

The girl was walking along Rowney Avenue at 9.30pm when she heard footsteps approaching from behind her. A man grabbed hold of her wrist, causing her to shout and stamp on his foot. The man then ran off.

He was wearing a black hooded top, blue jeans and soft green boots, possibly wellingtons. He was approximately 5ft 7ins tall and of muscular build.

Insp Kevin Wakefield said: "There was a vehicle spotted nearby that may not be connected but we would like to eliminate from our enquiries.

"It was a small, black car, with a rear spoiler and a white dragon emblem sticker on the back."
