Two Uttlesford District Councillors for Henham and Elsenham have resigned

District councillors representing two Uttlesford villages have stepped down from their positions this week.
Elizabeth Parr, elected in 2011, and Rory Gleeson, elected in 2015, both Liberal Democrats, have handed in their notice in the last two weeks.
They had been representing the Elsenham and Henham ward on Uttlesford District Council.
The move leaves two vacant positions on the authority.
A by-election for the two ward roles will be held on February 16.
Now only four Liberal Democrats stand on the council, down from six elected in 2015.
Elizabeth announced her resignation on Twitter on January 6.
Her tweet read: “Sadly stepped down from my role as district councillor in Elsenham and Henham today, it has been a privilege.”
Nominations for the by-election must be submitted to Uttlesford District Council by 4pm on Friday, January 20, for the returning officer to submit them into the electoral process for the by-election.
