The northbound M11 in Cambridgeshire has fully reopened.
The road had been partially closed for several hours after a double decker bus had caught fire.
No one was injured.
A Highways Agency spokesman said: “We have worked hard to have the road cleared as quickly as possible, but there are still considerable delays in the area. Current delays are at least 60 minutes.
“Drivers, and in particular those wishing to travel to Stansted airport are advised to plan their journeys and allow extra time to travel.”
