PLANNING applications submitted by Tesco and Sainsbury's will be independently reviewed by an external property specialist, it has been announced.
The report will help planners and councillors at Uttlesford District Council to determine if the supermarkets' development bids should be approved.
A council spokesman said: "The council has commissioned Savills to carry out a review of the retail assessment respectively submitted by Tesco and Sainsbury's.
"The report will be published once officers have had time to consider the advice received and follow up any points with Savills and the applicants as necessary.
