It is one of a string of incidents that have happened across the north-west of the county this morning, with heavy overnight rain causing widespread flooding.
Essex County Fire & Rescue Service (ECFRS) has attended over 70 flood-related incidents in Saffron Walden, Stansted, Elsenham and Newport.
In Saffron Walden 10 people – eight adults and two children – and two dogs had to be rescued from flats which had flooded in The Spike, Radwinter Road. The service’s boat was sent to assist with rescuing the residents.
