UTTLESFORD’S water supplier will be changing its name after new owners took over.
Veolia Water Central has been purchased by a consortium led by Infracapital Partners - the infrastructure investment fund managed by Prudential - and Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners.
Although the name, which has yet to be announced, will be different, customers should be unaffected by the change in ownership.
A spokesman said: “The company will continue to aim to provide the highest quality of service to customers. The tariffs charged to customers for their water service will continue to be determined by the industry regulator, Ofwat.”
Veolia Environnement has sold the business to reduce the capital intensity of their group in its UK water operations and to give a greater focus on its commercial outsourcing business. This divestment is part of a €5 billion programme which Veolia Environnement announced in December.
