A vintage fighter plane was forced to make an emergency landing during an aerial display at Duxford Imperial War Museum yesterday.
The plane, reported to be the P51d Mustang “Miss Velma”, was in the air as part of the Flying Legends show and came down in a field near the Duxford Aerodrome.
Police closed a lane of the M11 briefly while the incident was dealt with.
A spokeswoman for IWM Duxford confirmed that one of the planes was forced to make an emergency landing, but that no-one had been hurt in the incident.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 5.26pm (on Sunday) to reports of an incident at Duxford.
“An ambulance crew was sent to assist. No-one was injured and we shortly cleared the scene.”
The Flying Legends show attracted around 15,000 people to Duxford with air displays and nostalgic activities at the air base.
