DICK Dastardly and Muttley could make an appearance at the "Return of Wacky Races" fund-raising event in Linton next month.

The fun race around the village sees hopefuls taking to the streets in homemade carts, to raise money for worthy causes - this year's beneficiaries will be the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Linton Junior School.

Entertainment should be thick on the ground as, on top of the main event, there will be a junior race, stalls and a hog roast.

While not mandatory, fancy dress is strongly encouraged, so whether you fancy yourself as a bit of a Penelope Pitstop, Peter Perfect or even someone entirely unconnected to the classic cartoon series, don your novelty garments and hit the road!

The race starts at the Crown Inn at 3pm on Sunday May 25.
