THE performance of its services and the integrated plan which details healthcare plans in west Essex for the next four years are just some of the subjects to be discussed at the board meeting of West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (WECCG) next week.

Starting at 9.30am on Thursday March 28, the meeting will be held in the Boardroom, Building 4, Spencer Close, St Margaret’s Hospital, Epping and members of the public are welcome to attend. There will be an opportunity to take questions from members of the public towards the end of the meeting.

WECCG is preparing to take over the running of your local NHS from the primary care trust in April this year and the chairman, Dr Rob Gerlis, wants the public to play a greater role in the new organisation.

He said: “We warmly welcome members of the public to come along to our board meetings and encourage them to get closer to the decision-making process.

“From April 1 we will plan and buy healthcare for the local population. We are committed and passionate about improving the health of the local population and we see patient and public input at the heart of this.”
