The Winter Olympics in Sochi caught many an imagination, and for pupils at Saffron Walden County High School a six-day skiing trip continued their own “legend”.
The February half-term school trip has been a keenly-anticipated event in the school calendar, and this year was no exception.
The clamour for places way back in March 2013 culminated in a party of 123 departing from the UK last week for a six-day ski course in the Italian resort of Bormio.
The 109 students enjoyed excellent skiing conditions, great Italian hospitality and of course a range of après ski activities, including ice skating, sauna, pool and steam room and a pizza night.
Party leader Chris Edwards said it was “one of the best ever trips”, adding: “The atmosphere throughout the trip was outstanding and the level of progress made by the student skiers was, once again, jaw-droppingly good.”
