Woman, 90, rescued from burning flat in Saffron Walden

Firefighters rescued a 90-year-old woman from a first floor flat after a fire broke out yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).

Two crews from Saffron Walden were called to the “heavily smoke-logged” flat in Audley Court, Saffron Walden, at about 3.15pm.

Oxygen therapy was administered to the woman and an ambulance called.

Crews wore breathing apparatus and ventilated the property.
