A PEDESTRIAN was killed in Little Walden yesterday (Sunday) after being involved in a collision with a car.

The 69-year-old woman, from Chadwell Heath near Romford, was visiting family in the village when she was in collision with a black Citroën C2 at about 6pm.

She was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge for treatment for head injuries but died shortly after arriving.

The car, being driven by an 18-year-old man from Cambridgeshire, was driving towards Saffron Walden when the collision occurred. Police questioned and arrested the driver, who was uninjured, before releasing him on bail until July 20.
