The last meeting held in the Meadow School hall was chaired by Helen Hatfield in the absence of president Susie Gilbert. Business matters included booking confirmation of the outing to the Arts Theatre in June and bowling at Haverhill. Members will attend the WI Group Meeting to be held at West Wratting in May. The speaker for the evening was Stuart Antrobus with the theme, Lady Denman and the Growth of the WI. After an enjoyable and informative talk,
Del Kunish thanked Stuart for the talk and answers to the many questions from the floor. An excellent speaker and highly recommended. Del Kunish also won the competition for a WI relic, with an old-style WI badge. The evening ended with the celebration of three special birthdays of members, with cake and Buck's Fizz. The next meeting is on Tuesday, May 8 at the Meadow School hall from 7.45pm. The main event will be a wine and cheese tasting hosted by Waitrose. Guests and new members are welcome.
