A NEW trial family initiative has been launched by Saffron Screen and the National Childbirth Trust.

The community cinema, based at Saffron Walden County High School, will be screening Happy Feet this Saturday and Flushed Away on February 17 especially for families with young children.

Saffron Screen's chairman, Rebecca del Tufo, said: "These two family specials have been planned with support from the local NCT group.

"If these screenings are well supported, then more Saturday morning screenings will be planned in the future."

Poppy Bailey, five, helped the cinema launch the new initiative when she attended a matinee of the Wizard of Oz on Saturday.
