FROM Harry Potter-esque Sorting Hats to owls and frogs, more than 150 youngsters enjoyed a mouth wateringly magical day of biscuit decorating at Saffron Walden Museum.
The event was inspired by the museum’s current Witch Hunt exhibition and follows on from the hugely successful Spell Quest fun days.
Children decorated biscuits shaped like owls, witch hats and frogs with coloured icing, fried egg sweets, marshmallows, chocolate stars and min-Smarties. They were baked by Rachel Hewlett from The Biscuit Jar, who joined in the two-day fun on Thursday and Friday last week.
The museum is also looking for support from visitors who think it is a family friendly place. It is up for the national 2013 Museums Family Friendly Award and visitors have been urged to send an e-mail to award@kidsinmuseums.org.uk to tell organisers why they think it should win.
