WHAT a wonderful relief to be able to stroll around the town to browse and shop among other relaxed and unthreatened shoppers and sightseers now that half of George Street has become a peaceful shopping precinct. The need to provide a pedestrian precinct

WHAT a wonderful relief to be able to stroll around the town to browse and shop among other relaxed and unthreatened shoppers and sightseers now that half of George Street has become a peaceful shopping precinct.

The need to provide a pedestrian precinct and a bypass to take the lorries out of the town centre must surely have arrived. Let's hope someone has the mettle to grasp the nettle and do something about it.
