I would through your paper like to thank Cllr Perry and his colleagues on the Saffron Walden Town Council subcommittee for arranging for the French market to come to Saffron Walden.

What a transformation - it was a pleasure to go into town with something different happening. The market catered for a number of tastes and the bread and cheeses were delicious. I also saw a number of youngsters from the County High School trying out the French they had learnt, and purchasing items in French, as well as some adults.

I have never seen so many people (old and new) in the town, and the market was obviously an attraction not to be missed. Can we please have more of the same?
