ELSENHAM - a new market town. A vibrant new market town for Uttlesford".

Elsenham is a Saxon settlement and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. It is therefore inconceivable that the Fairfield Partnership can have a vision for the expansion of our village to a "vibrant market town".

On top of our district council's preferred 'Option Four', an 'Eco town' is now under consideration. The government states: "An Eco town must be a new settlement, separate and distinct from existing towns."

The Fairfield Partnership is oblivious to local feelings on this matter. They state that they would provide separation from Henham, but as much of the development would be in the parish of Henham, how can it be separate from any such development, and what about separation from the village of Elsenham?

Does Fairfield and David Lock Associates know exactly what an eco town is?
