JAMES Baker and Ed Crace-Eales both put in stunning displays at the Steel City 2 event in Sheffield at the weekend – with Ed setting up a British championship title-shot.
Joined by Andy Welsh to make up Saffron Walden’s Ultimate Tri-Style MMA team, the expert fighters travelled up to the steel city full of optimism.
Baker fought first and put in a clinical performance to pick of his opponent with a series of punch combinations and head kicks, almost putting him down three times – his next fight will now be for the British Championship and will be live on Sky TV.
In the following fight, a disappointed Welsh was unlucky to experience a cut in the opening exchanges and the referee was forced to stop proceedings. Last Up for Tri-style was Ed Crace-Eales fighting Joe Woodhouse.
He dominated with jabs and flying knee combination before using his superior technical skill in the clinch to gain a unanimous points decision.
He has been selected for the Great Britain squad prior to the World Martial games in Cardiff.
