A stunning first half paved the way for a fine victory for Saffron Walden Town at home to Takeley.
All three goals in the 3-0 Essex Senior League success at Catons Lane came before the break.
Jason Hallett put the Bloods ahead on 15 minutes but Charlie Cole added a second five minutes later.
Cole then took his tally to 20 for the season with another, five minutes before the interval.
For Walden this was a sixth win in seven, the other being a defeat to Buckhurst Hill, and the superb end of season form has catapulted them up to sixth place.
Takeley are now two places and six points behind them, although they do have four games in hand.
Barnston Res knocked out neighbours High Roding in a thrilling Essex & Suffolk Border League Tommy Thompson Cup tie.
The pair drew 3-3 in normal time before Barnston won through 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out.
Roding took a two-goal lead thanks to headers from Myles Passley and Jim McClelland but Barnston hit back with a double from Ryan Johnson in the space of two minutes, midway through the second half.
Aaron Donaldson restored Roding's lead but Johnson was not finished and he completed his hat-trick to send the match to a shoot-out.
Roding's first attempt from 12 yards hit the crossbar and it proved the only one not to go in, Zak Jagathesan converting the winning kick.
There were two great wins for U9 teams at Saffron Walden PSG to set up an all-club Cambridgeshire county final.
The Blues beat Coton 4-2 with Amelia, Elsa and Eliza on target while the Blacks saw off Cambourne Town 5-0 thanks to goals from Imy, Hazel and Jemima.
Other teams in the club are celebrating sponsorship deals with businesses in the community.
Holroyd Components sponsor the U8s, Wild at Heart Yoga the two U11 teams and Darcelle Flooring both the U13 Blacks and U13 Blues.
Caps Cases continue as U16 Blacks sponsors while Goddards Saffron Walden sponsor the U18s.
A spokeswoman for the club said: "We have around 250 girls playing in 16 teams in the Cambridgeshire Girls & Women’s Football League, plus we offer two weekly sessions to introduce girls to football – wildcats for girls in reception to Year 6, and squad girls for high school Years 7 to 10.
"But we are a non-profit making organisation, so these shirt sponsorships are vital for helping to reduce kit costs and allowing us to direct the funds towards maintaining and improving pitches and facilities.
"We would like to thank these businesses for their generosity in investing in and supporting girls’ football in Saffron Walden."
