There was a home winner as Saffron Walden Cricket Club held a school's competition.
Both the R A Butler girls' and boys' teams won all of their matches and made it through to the Essex finals.
James Smith, sport lead at the school, said: "A huge well done to all the players. They played brilliantly and we are keeping our fingers crossed for the next round."
Saffron Walden's first team couldn't secure a home win as they lost by three wickets in the East Anglian Premier League to Wisbech Town.
Being asked to bat first, Walden found themselves in trouble at 81-5 as wickets tumbled around young opener Alex Pierson (42).
But a 79-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Ash Cox (86*) and Aussie Brynn Mendel (18) saved any blushes before Wisbech's Gary Freer (5-36) removed the tail quickly to set his side a modest 199 to win.
Walden did find immediate success as Ash Cox and Ali Hancock removed both openers but number three Josh Bowers (92) and number four Ryan Clark (47) came together to cement their innings.
Wickets did continue to fall, keeping the home side hopeful, but in the end their total was about 30 runs too short and Wisbech won with three wickets left and three overs spare.
The thirds also lost, going down to a painful defeat at March.
The hosts rattled up a mammoth 307 with the main highlight for Walden being the sublime performance of young Hywel Bowen, whose pain at missing out on a maiden century, he finished on 99, will be eased by the fact it won't take much longer on this showing.
The seconds and fourths had good wins though.
The twos won by eight wickets away to Ufford Park, Henry Rodda (4-55), Noah Vintner (3-37) and Ryan Deamer (2-16) doing the damage to bowl the hosts out for 206.
Giles Ecclestone then hit an unbeaten 67 with help from Henry Wiseman (48) and Luke Swanston (37*) to win with 18 overs to spare.
The fourths comprehensively outplayed Linton after bowling them out for 130, Matt Rowlandson and Jed Bailey taking four wickets each.
The reply took just 23 overs to complete, Tom Rodda getting to 55 not out with Rowlandson adding 37.
Walden's women's and girls' side won off the last ball to beat City of Cambridge.
Bowling first, 56 extras helped Cambridge set a target of 103 but 32 not out from Evie Borgeson ensured the win.
And another strong display from the U12 county cup side saw them progress to the knock-out stage.
Cillian Harrison hit a ton this time (107) with Charlie Smith (31) and Harry Silverwood (30*) also among the runs against Great Baddow.
Tight bowling from Jack Hill (2-22) and George Midwood (2-4) kept them well below the run rate.
