Ashdon powerlifter John Moran came top of the Masters 4 [over 55s] class in the deadlifting discipline at the British Drugs Free Powerlifting Championships in King's Lynn on Easter Sunday.
Moran only took up the sport two years ago and after taking second place last year in the same event he was pleased to have taken top spot this time around while equalling his personal best lift.
Moran, who trains at Just Gym in Saffron Walden, now progresses to the World Championship to be held in Wrexham in early June.
