Saffron Striders Andy Mynott was third at the Ashdon 10k


A busy weekend for Saffron Striders ended at the popular Ashdon 10k on Bank Holiday Monday.

A group of 18 members took on the heat and hills, with Andrew Mynott third overall in 38 minutes 12 seconds.

Zib Gotto was third female to finish in 53.21, while Daisy White – daughter of Rebecca and Nick – and Francesca Cooke – daughter of chairman Alistair and Trish – were the first under-eight girls to cross the line of a 3k race in 16 minutes.

Iain Rogers (swim), Arci Marco (cycling) and Tim McMahon (run) split their skills to come second in the Walden Triathlon relay event while Baz Taylor ran a 50k ultra race amid spectacular waterfalls, rivers and hills of the Gower Peninsula in seven horus 30 minutes.

Tony Lumsden completed the inaugural Witham 10 mile race in one hour 17 minutes.
