Saffron Striders had another busy weekend, following the heroics at the hottest-ever London Marathon.

Baz Taylor travelled to less tropical Newport in South Wales to run a marathon in three hours 56 minutes, despite suffering an injury.

Closer to home, Tony Bacon (below) took on the Childerley Estate 10k and came home in an impressive third place in 39.27, raising money for local charity ‘Run Ronnie Run’.

Arci Marco wasn’t far behind taking 22nd place in 44.57 in a muddy field of over 500 runners.

Saffron Striders meet outside the Lord Butler Fitness and Leisure Centre every Tuesday evening at 7.45pm for an 8pm start. All abilities welcomed.
