Saffron Striders completed another busy week at the Braintree five-mile race on Sunday.

The championship fixture took place on an undulating course in very warm conditions, with Fiona Halls second woman to finish in 33 minutes 43 seconds.

June Brennan won her age group in an impressive 40.41 and there were other notable runs from Mike Bradley, Helen Hewlett and Rachel Cornell, from the Striders’ beginners group.

Thursday evening saw a group of 32 Striders put their individual targets to one side to join forces at the Summer League 5k race in Ely.

And Robert Shaw, Jackie Lucas and Lucie Heanley all produced great performances to help contribute to a fine result against some very good regional athletes.
