TWO games and two wins for the in-form Saffron Steelers as they fought off rivals from Cambridge and Huntingdon.

On Sunday the Steelers were in action against the Hunts Hawks. Both teams were unbeaten going into the crunch tie but it was Walden that came out on top, winning comfortably 81-55.

It was the usual fast start for the home side and they opened up a huge 20-8 lead thanks to some great shooting from Alex Purcell.

The Hawks crept their way back into the game and levelled the scores before half time at 36-36.

But the Steelers superior fitness levels came through and, in the second half, the Visiskis brothers shined and took the game over for a comfortable 81-55 win, special praise went to 16-year-old Tom Boxall who made some good plays.

On Tuesday night last week the Steelers travelled to rivals Cambridge Cats and also earned themselves a comfortable 81-63 win with a fine display.
