Former Saffron Walden midfielder Carl Hoddle has died aged 41, after suffering a suspected heart attack at his Sawbridgeworth home on Sunday night.
The brother of former England football manager Glenn Hoddle, was a former Spurs trainee, who went on to play for Barnet and Leyton Orient as well as for Blue Square South side Bishop's Stortford.
Most recently he had been working as a car salesman at Mercedes-Benz in
Bishop's Stortford.
An ambulance spokesman said: "We attended an address following reports of a man suffering from chest pains. The man was pronounced dead at the scene."
Ambulance crews attended at around 10.45pm on Sunday.
