SAFFRON Walden Cricket Club will be holding its registration day for all members (including adult playing and non-playing members) this Saturday (April 9).

The day runs from 10am until 2pm at the Anglo-American Playing Fields off Catons Lane. All present and new players are asked to register on or before that date.

The adult side will be running a 5th team this year and the firsts will be hoping to improve on last year’s runners-up position in the East Anglian Premier League.

Club spokesman Caleb Larsen said: “Our Academy, with over 250 members, will field 22 junior teams, which includes two girls teams and a disabled/special needs team playing in an Essex-wide tournament.

“Saffron Sports will be in attendance on Saturday and they offer 10 per cent discount to our members. United Sports will also attend. Club and second-hand kit will also be on sale and our vice-President, Sir Alan Haselhurst MP, will drop in.”

Holiday courses will be available this summer, more information at saffronwaldencricket.co.uk.
