Friends’ Junior School successful Cross Country Team with coach, Jane Manley

FRIENDS’ Junior School had success at the Langley Preparatory Cross Country Tournament as they competed against eight other schools.

This was the eighth year the have taken part in the competition in Norwich, and came away with their best results yet. Florence Deller, Indigo Collecott, Kara Cowell and Freya Scarlett came 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively in the U9 girls. Barnaby Knight and Max Godfrey cam first and second in the U9 boys.

The U11 Girls ran a great race to finish 1st Alice Bromell, 2nd Alice Abrahams and 3rd Clem Addison Atkinson to win their team event.

The U11 Boys’ team also did well with Josh Batcheler finishing second in his race.

The school has a thriving running club which encourages pupils to train and run for both competition and personal achievement. Jane Manley, cross country coach and teacher said: “It was fantastic to see the children do so well, they all ran superbly and achieved a set of superb results.”
