AS the season for the Saffron Walden Winter League draws to a close the cup finals of the two team competitions plus some rearranged league games have now been completed.

The Medics Cup final provided some excitement as the Queens Head A Littlebury from division one found their division two opponents, the Fighting Cocks more than a handful.

In a match that went to the last game of the night the Queens Head finally claimed a 5-4 victory over their adversaries from Wendens Ambo.

The Team Knockout Trophy final proved to be a more one-sided affair as the division one leaders, Newport Club A beat division two champions, the Fleur de Lys, Widdington, 5-1.

In the league, the Queens Head A, fresh from their cup success, completed their division one league programme with a 6-3 away win over the Rose & Crown, Ashdon.

In division two the Fighting Cocks were 5-4 winners at home to the Crocus Tavern as both teams finished their games for the season.
