A FEMALE cricketer from Saffron Walden has been earmarked as a future star after being selected as captain for her county.
Saffron Walden Cricket Club academy player Katherine Hawkins has been chosen to lead out the Essex under 13 squad this season and will begin her role as skipper in the next few weeks.
A spokesman from the club said they were “delighted” for the youngster who has been on the books with Walden for just over four years.
