SAFFRON Strider Fiona Tideswell recorded her second personal best in a fortnight after taking on a tough field at the Grand East Anglian Run this weekend.

Fresh from her excellent performance at the London Marathon, Fiona ran the 10km race in Kings Lynn in a blistering time of 40mins 30secs, making her the 12th female over the line and 79th overall against some 1,478 competitors.

The Striders’ London Marathon team were not the only club members to recently take on a challenging 26-mile race - with Arthur Oliva performing well at the Bungay Marathon in Suffolk just a week after running the St Clare Hospice 10K. In sweltering conditions, he ran an impressive 4hrs 15mins to finish 158th out of 218 runners.

Meanwhile Andrew Mynott narrowly missed out on victory in the Hertford 10km – for the third year running he finished in second place, with a time of 35mins 11secs.
