Saffron Hawks under-12s took on their friends from local rivals Swans at the weekend.

Wet conditions led to a high number of unforced errors, but the subsequent turnovers made for an exciting contest.

Hawks were on top in the mid-court areas from the start, setting off at a fast pace, and good passing into the circle set up a string of good chances for their shooters, who did not miss until midway through the final quarter.

The Hawks defence also produced a string of interceptions against taller opponents, providing a solid platform for attacks.

Kirsty Neill was named player of the match for Hawks due to her tireless running and accurate distribution as her side ran out 38-9 winners.

The game was played in good spirits throughout and the teams will be cheering each other one when they play in a tournament together in January.
