Hockey players wanted in Saffron Walden

SAFFRON WALDEN Hockey Club is searching for fresh talent ahead of the new season.

Club director Eve Turnbull wants players to help fill 14 teams playing many different levels.

She said: “If you want to resurrect or start a new hockey career please come and join us. All playing abilities are welcome as this is a growing and friendly club.”

Training is already underway, with ladies practising on Tuesday’s from 6.30pm and men practising on Wednesday’s from 8.30pm, with new coach Will Tomsett.

A club day will also take place on Saturday September 4 at the Newport Grammar School Astroturf, starting at 10am. Some stick skills and games will be played

League matches start on September 18 for the ladies first team and September 25 for all other sides.
