Local youth football round up

Wymondley Park 2 Plantation Youth 3

Plantation failed to convert numerous first half opportunities and, although dominating the half, found themselves 1-0 down at the interval.

The second period started well for Plantation with a 41st minute equaliser, Louis Eady guiding his pass behind a defender and Max Halls timing his run perfectly to just beat the keeper to the ball and slide into the net.

Four minutes later Wymondley were ahead again when a loose ball was thundered into the net from 25 yards, but a quick response from Plantation, within 60 seconds, made it 2-2 with Eady burying a penalty to the keeper’s right.

More missed chances seemed to suggest a draw was inevitable before a well weighted ball from Matt Thomas, beating the home defence, was collected by the advancing Eady to slot home from the edge of the box.

Manuden 11 Weston 4

Manuden produced a fine winning performance to round off their season. A hat-trick from Ben Sloan was complimented by two goals each from Louis Joannou, Will Davies and George Hewitt. Further goals from Archie Mullings and Dan Storey completed a comfortable victory.
