Newport Free Grammar School students went on their first netball tour to Liddington in Wiltshire.

Forty three girls and five members of staff went along and the Year 8a team came second overall.

Year 8b and the Year 10 team came third.

Students also had the chance to go and try out the abseiling tower, giant swing, archery and aerial runway.

A school spokesman said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all members of the public who donated money during the bag packing at Waitrose and the cake sale, outside Boots, to help raise funds for the girls’ netball kit.

“The girls had an absolutely fantastic time and they all played some excellent netball throughout the tournament.”
