Both athletes, who have competed at the highest level for Great Britain, spent an afternoon leading the junior school pupils in some fun physical exercises and sharing their tips on what it takes to be a professional athlete. Cox also shared his achievements and the sacrifices he has made in order to represent GB in his chosen sport.

Year 11 GCSE PE students were also given the opportunity to meet with both athletes and find out about their individual sporting success and other factors which affect a professional athlete, such as training methods, diet, mental preparation, injuries and drug testing.

Sports for Schools raises money for sports equipment for the participating school and also a children’s charity, which is nominated by the project. Cox and Adeniran are training for this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
