ON Sunday a record number of Walden Tri members headed to Newmarket to take part in the third running of Newmarket Cycling and Triathlon Club triathlon.
Jack Peasgood came out on top in the super sprint distance, composed of a 300m pool swim, followed by a 22km bike on a comparatively flat course and 4km run that included two laps of a school playing field.
Luckily, the predicted rain stayed away and the weather was near to perfect for the race. The first swimmers were in the water at 8am, and with 30 second intervals between participants the race was under way quickly and efficiently.
