A total of 22 teams from 10 clubs took part, with Wendens Ambo facing rivals from Fylde, Newport, Sheffield and York.

And despite cool weather, a large crowd in the region of 2,000 saw some excellent rugby played and the spirit of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship on display.

A club spokesperson said: “We are proud of all the boys and girls who played and did so well against some tough competition and we hope we will be able to participate in more such events in the future.”
