It was the fifth year running that Wendens have won the U11 competition.

They stated their intentions early with shut-out wins over Shelford and Huntingdon to book their place in the quarter-finals. Their last eight tie against Peterborough was forfeited as Wendens led 8-0 at half-time, setting up a semi-final against the hosts.

A 3-0 victory booked a cup final date with Shelford. A terrific performance from Wendens saw them run out 4-0 winners and keep the number of tries conceded to zero.

The U8s were just as ruthless, scoring 26 tries in three games to reach the semi-finals. Wendens led 3-2 at the break and managed to edge a scoreless second-half to win a nail-biting tie.

In the final, St Neots couldn’t hold back the tie of pressure from Wendens and eventually wilted to a 7-3 loss, handing the defending champions the title for the second straight year.
