After a long Essex Mini League break through the summer for Saffron Seals, the eighth and final round of the 2015 competition was held at Southend-on-Sea.

The Seals had been keeping in good shape via qualification events for the Essex Winter Championships and 2016 Essex Age Group Championships in the past few weeks.

This showed through a strong performance as they finished third on the evening, and eighth in the league overall out of the 18 Essex clubs who compete in the event throughout the year.

Seventeen Seals swimmers gained personal best times at the events - Nathan Abbotson, Luhan Bely, Lily Costen, Bryce Drylie, Benedict Hannam, Alexander Harding, Olivia Harris, Mia Hickey, Isla Hindle, Daniel Legg, Christopher Norman, Dominic Rogers, George Rogers, Mya Sanderson, Elliot Skingley, Jack Stanton-Stock and Evie Upton.

Nineteen swimmers travelled to Royston to take part in the Tricia Dear Trophy Development Gala.

For some it was their first experience of competition and all acquitted themselves well, winning first prize.

Overall, there were 11 PBs and nine new times were achieved.
