Saffron Striders’ Fiona Halls added two trophies to her growing collection at the Stebbing Remembrance Day 10-mile race on Sunday.

Hundreds in attendance paid their respects during a remembrance service before Halls crossed the line as second female overall and first in her age group (35-44) in one hour eight minutes and 18 seconds.

Andrew Mynott bagged fifth place in the men’s race with an impressive time of 58:44.

Club chairman Nigel Coates finished in 1:06:08 followed by Ian Macdougal in 1:07:30.

There were more great performances further down the field including Tim McMahon (1:09:16), Andrew Flind (1:10:49), Andrew Bryant (1:11:11), David Raimondo (1:13:43), Alan Jones (1:15:57), Arthur Olivia (1:16:15) and Iain Rogers in 1:17:12 to cap off a successful, but emotional, day for the Walden-based running club.
