The Saffron Walden Golf Club scratch team came up against a much improved Brampton Park outfit in the CAGU Division One Scratch League, losing 4-2.

Park opened up with their in-form pairing of Loveday and Reeson.

The duo opened up with two birdies and an eagle at the sixth which meant the Walden pair of Mark Reeve and Olly Tuck found it difficult to recover. They eventually lost four-down.

Next, Ian Macdonald and Spencer Burlingham took on Davies and Milborn.

The game was punctuated by errors from both sides.

Park took a two-up lead but a birdie by Walden reduced it to one-up going into the 17th.

Both teams reached the hole in two but Park won the putting contest to a par and won two-up,

Richard Southall and Callum Brookes took on Earl and Entwhistle and destroyed the opposition with two birdies and two bogeys to win eight-up but by then victory was beyond them.
