Saffron Walden PSG under-15 girls began the new season with a 2-1 win at Hungate Rovers.

Ava, Isabel and Flo joined up well, with the latter denied by a brilliant save.

Georgia, Emily and Ellen looked comfortable in defence, as Lily impressed in goal on her return.

Hungate opened the scoring before the break, but Elisha and Aimee worked hard on the wings and Flo had another shot saved.

Leah levelled with 10 minutes left and then Ava netted the winner with a low shot into the corner.

The under-13s beat Haddenham Rovers 5-4 in a thriller.

Belle scored twice and Lily netted to make it 3-1 at half time, but the hosts hit back to make it 4-4 in the second half, as Jess, Lily, Ruby and Rose worked hard in midfield.

Jess netted the winner after a strong run as Marnie and Hannah made their debuts, while Maddison looked good in defence and Harriet stayed alert in goal.
