Saffron Walden Town have been drawn away from home in the extra preliminary round of the FA Challenge Cup.

The Bloods will travel to Ilford, who finished 16th in the Essex Senior League last season, on Saturday, August 16. A win will set up a tie at the Meadow against either Welwyn Garden City or Hadley two weeks later.

In the FA Vase, Walden will play Debenham away from home in the second qualifying round having received a bye in the first. Stuart Wardley’s side face a stiff challenge having only ever won once at Debenham in six visits. The tie is due to be played on Saturday, October 4.

The U18s complete the sequence of away ties for the Bloods as they will have to play at Waltham Abbey in the first qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup.
