Saffron Walden Town have been handed the chance to upset one of last season’s FA Cup giantkillers – when they were drawn against Chesham United

The Bloods will get that trip to Buckinghamshire in the first round qualifying, if they see off Long Melford this Saturday in the preliminary round.

Chesham United, who play in the Southern League Premier Division, two divisions higher than Town, reached the second round of last year’s tournament, eventually losing 4-0 at Bradford City.

They had defeated Bristol Rovers 1-0 in the first round proper.

First round qualifying matches will be played on September 3, with the winner receiving £3,000 from the FA Cup prize fund.

The draw for the first round qualifying was made prior to the preliminary round in order to help clubs in their scheduling plans ahead of what could be a busy September for many.
