NEWLY formed this season, Walden Wanderers under-14 recorded their first-ever points with a hard-fought victory in a nine-goal thriller at Ely.

Hat-trick hero Elliot Olds and two-goal Thomas Coles lad the charge as their new partnership immediately blossomed.

That enabled Wanderers to race into a 4-1 lead as early as the 24th minute.

Tom Coles also hit the bar twice in the first period before the home side pulled another goal back for a 4-2 Wanderers lead at the interval.

Two further strikes by Ely sandwiched Elliot Olds’ third - and Walden’s fifth - goal in the second period.
