CROCUS turned on the style to put a massive dent into Castle Camps title hopes as the home side dominated the high flyers from start to finish producing some mouth-watering football.

Captain Scott Cummings led the way with Michael Eldred, Scott Crawte, David Rodes and Steven Woods all in top form as they dominated the midfield and the backline.

Both halves were similar in that Crocus created many chances but it wasn’t until the 86th minute that the deadlock was broken. Player manager Eldred nodded in at the far post for his seventh of the season.

Crocus thought they had done enough to win the game but were denied when a penalty was given to the visitors after a clash in the box. Goalkeeper Scott Palmer pulled off a magnificent save only for the referee to order a re-take and Camps equalised.

Player manager Michel Eldred was delighted with the application from his players and said he was “proud of a near perfect performance”.

Next: Crocus travel to Newport on Saturday. Kick off 2pm.
